Judy and David spent 4 -4 1/2 hours talking genealogy Saturday afternoon after Thanksgiving. They both really enjoyed themselves.

Studying the Bible

Terry loves to look at books. He turns each page every so carefully, however, Mommy says if he gets upset he'll start tearing out the pages, so we watch him pretty close. This evening I picked up Cassie and Andrew along with Terry for supper. I do that since I take Cassie and Andrew to church and it starts about the time Alice gets home from work, so she doesn't have to rush in and try to get them fed. I then take Terry back home after I drop the others at church. He enjoys getting to GO. While here he said his NAME for Poppaw. That was such a thrill. He was as pleased as we were. He just beamed.

Ronnie Carter passed this picture along to me of Thomas Woo and family. Preacher Woo was the pastor at the Goodwill Center in Virginia Lee when I grew up. He, also, married Larry and I and Louie and Lois. When they left the St. Charles area and went to Texas, I believe that Tim was still a baby. Hope you enjoy seeing this.

JOHN WALTER SMITH

Walter came by this morning to visit for a short while. Before he left, I took a few pictures of him and came up with this one to put on my wall. It's been a couple of years since I have changed the grandchildrens pictures. Still have 3 more to get. I sent this picture to Judy so you will see it on her blog also.

FOG OVER THE VALLEY

On my way back home from Mom's, I stopped on top of the mountain (Wallens Ridge) and took a number of pictures of the fog in the valley (Duffield).

HILLSVILLE WITH WANDA

I took Mom to Hillsville today to visit with Wanda (JoAnn). We all had a good time. The weather was very nice, a little brisk but as you can see by the pictures it was a beautiful day. The mountains, along with the wishing well, made a very nice background.

BIRTHDAY GIRL

FALL BASEBALL SEASON

Andrew is playing fall baseball. This season is mainly to keep the boys up to date with their skills. Its only a short 6 week season with practice only 1 night a week with games on Saturday. Took this picture of the team today.

SAM & ABBY

We had a good time with Sam and Abby while Tim took Elda for a much needed time away. Even though it was a working vacation, they had a nice time.

SUNDAY PARK

8-30-06 While Elda had Abby and Cassie for a couple of days, I had the boys. They enjoy going to Sunday Park to take pictures of the ducks so off we went with the cameras. I took the pictures of the boys and they took the rest, even the one of me. I told Andrew he was as bad as Grandma, always taking pictures with the animals going away from us. HA We had an enjoyable time. Another mother was there with her children feeding bread to the ducks, so she gave Sam some to do the same. We will have to remember to take some with us the next time. Of course, with school starting back it will be awhile before we can do that with Andrew again.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Larry celebrated his 63rd birthday on the 22nd with dinner at Jim & Barbara's, along with John. We had a wonderful dinner and a marvelous dessert.

CLIMBIN' AND A-SWINGIN'

Today Larry and I had lunch with Barbara and Jim. Afterwards we had a short visit with Tim and Elda. Sam was having fun climbing a tree, with help from Daddy. I took these pictures and made a collage of them.


Abby had to have her picture taken also, so she decided the swing was for her.

 

Today I took Cassie & Abby to Sunday Park, the same as I did with their brothers a couple of weeks ago. Abby was terrified of the ducks and held on to either Cassie or me. After leaving the shore I finally got then to let me take pictures of them. Cassie didn't want any part of that but I did manage to get a couple of her. The wind was blowing which really helped with the heat (98) today but it didn't do much for the hair. I'm still pretty pleased with this picture.

The girls are spending a couple of nights with us. Abbie had climbed up in Poppaw's lap so I suggested Cassie stand with them so I could a picture of all three.

Abigail wasn't too sure if she like the watermelon.

While at Judy's, we watched Carla with the bird. She acts like she is protecting him. As soon as I got to the house she took me straight into the room where the bird was hanging. She really was showing him off.

Faith

While Danni & Ben were visiting on Saturday I took a number of pictures of Faith. She's teething so a finger went to the mouth. However, she looked straight into the camera.

I spent part of the morning with Sam & Andrew on a photo shoot. They had a wonderful time taking pictures of the geese and ducks at Sunday Park. They both even tried to catch the gooslings but even they were too fast for them. They both have requested that we do this again. Neither of them were still enough for me to get good pictures of them.
