Our Easter Sunday was spent at the hospital with Mom. She kept changing from gown and robe to her street clothes. Here she is with Lois and Louie. (Mom had a severe eye infection so she had to be hospitalized from Friday until Tuesday)
In January, Elda and I went to the Women's Friday Fun Night at the church. Elda was used as the mannequin to model a POODLE SKIRT made out of paper and other materials. Later our table had to sing "Johnny Be Good" and of course Elda was chosen to be the lead singer. As you can see we had a BALL. (photos by Z. Forray)
Judy was here today so I TRIED to get a good picture of her with her father. He JUST WON"T SMILE. This the best I could do. Of course I also just HAD to upload his UGLY FACE PIC. This might show him he does need to smile.
I received these pictures from a very dear friend, Ronnie Carter, formerly of St. Charles. Below is the information he sent, along with the pictures. This should be of interest to family members .
Ronnie wrote: “My Grandmother Emily Carter, married Clabe Rogers in March of 1918. He was the son of Edmond & Elizabeth Rogers. Isaac Rogers was one of his sons and that is the father of Ellis Rogers.” "
Abby spent the night and really needed someone to play with. I picked up Cassie and they had a pretty good time together. In the pic, they're both stretched out watching Christmas cartoons that I recorded on VCR tapes back in 1998. Cartoons never go out of style.
Before Sam and I headed out to Sunday Park, we took a walk around the yard and through the woods. The only thing we were able to get a picture of was a squirrel high in a tree. He stayed long enough to get one shot and then when he heard us in the leaves. That was the end of him, off he scurried.
While Larry had Andrew out hunting today, Sam stayed with me. He was getting bored, we had tried finding birds to take pictures of, but they are just too quick. We decided to take a short drive to Sunday Park since we knew there would be ducks . Sam was able to use his camera and I took some shots also. Sam even got to feed the ducks, a couple was there with their children and had a large bag of bird seed. They were giving it out to the othere children there so Sam got into the act. The water was full of sea gulls, more than I have seen there before.
This is Chris-my photo buddy from Georgia. Chris grew up across the street from us. We spent part of the day at Maymont Park taking a few shots. I know his photos turn out so much better than mine but I just enjoy the time he allows to try help me do a little better. (For a few shots I took today, see www.DigitallyDorothys.blogspot.com) TO SEE CHRIS' WORK GO TO: http://clipgloss.smugmug.com
I went out in the country with Larry today. He carried his gun and I took my camera so we both went on a shoot. In one location, I shot 2 deer and then out in a cornfield, way out in a corn field, I shot turkey. There were a total of 8 turkeys but I only got 6 in a couple of shots. They were just too far away to get a good picture. Oh by the way, Larry didn't even try. He actually just wanted to get out of the house (cabin fever).
